You’ve heard about Jesus but you have no interest in Him or you think that you’ll go to Him when you’re living the “good” life. You have no desire to use Him as a crutch because you’re ok managing your life your way. I hear you. That was me. I was never going to turn to Jesus when things were bad. I didn’t want to be one of those people who only called on Him when they wanted something. That’s not nice.
And then it happened. In 2012, the business wasn’t doing well and bills were needing to be paid. What was I to do? Who could I turn to? I’m the one who made all the decisions that led me to this mess. So, with nowhere else to turn, I cried and called out to Jesus, pouring out my heart to Him. I told Him how I needed Him to fix my financial situation, as I didn’t know how to do it. And I couldn’t see a way forward.
Shortly after, an opportunity materialised and the business improved, providing more than what I needed. What a blessing! I could not thank and praise Jesus enough for His grace and mercy. I started reading my bible, and praying, which I’ve been doing ever since. My understanding of who Jesus is, what He has done for me, well us, and why He did it was made clear.
One of the things that has become very clear is that our problems, our hardships are what He allows to draw us to Himself. Because when we feel or think we have everything we want, we have no need of Him, which is contrary to what we said earlier.
Another thing that has been made very clear is that accepting Jesus as our Saviour doesn’t mean that we won’t ever experience problems and hardships. It just means that He will be with us to guide us through them, taking away any stress and blessing us with His peace and joy in our hearts.
This post started with the idea that we’d go to Jesus when everything was ok. But it is clear to see how He seeks us out in our trials and draws us to Him. So, if you’re still thinking you don’t need Him or you need to get your life in order first, stop. Just call on His name, Jesus, and ask Him to help you, no matter where you are or what you’re going through right now. He is waiting and wants to help you.
If you made it this far, thank you. We hope that it resonated with you or has cleared up some confusions you may have had about knowing Jesus.

So, what are you thinking or what’s your conversion story? We’d love to hear from you.
